Un pobre hombre estaba tendido en su cama, agonizante; le quedaban pocas horas de vida.

A pesar de su semi inconciencia alcanza a percibir el aroma de tamales, los tamales de su querida esposa Chepa; el platillo que tanto le gusta y que es lo único que podría ayudarlo a revivir.

Haciendo un esfuerzo sobrehumano baja las escaleras y, dirigiéndose al comedor, empieza a percibir el aroma a masa de maíz, carne de puerco y de pollo y chile que desde la cocina emana.

Llega hasta la mesa de madera donde se encuentran extendidos los suculentos tamales y toma uno, convencido de que sus esfuerzos habían valido la pena cuando, repentinamente, siente un fuerte golpe en la cabeza que merma sus facultades y lo hace presa de la debilidad en sus piernas.

Tratando de no desplomarse al suelo, logra girar la cabeza y alcanza a ver a su mujer con un cucharón de fierro en la mano, diciéndole:

Ni se te ocurra, C@BRÓN , ¡Son pa’l velorio!!!!!
