Las videoconsolas dicen adiós a los mandos

Inspirándose en la Wii de Nintendo, una compañía israelí crea un sistema con una cámara 3D que capta el movimiento sin necesidad de mandos.

El éxito de la videoconsola Wii de Nintendo y las franquicias como “Guitar Hero” de Activisión han llevado a las compañías de ocio digital a explorar nuevos modos de control de los juegos por parte de los jugadores. Uno de los últimos procede de una empresa de tecnología con sede en Israel que está tratando de llevar los juegos al nivel más interactivo hasta la fecha.

Esta semana, la compañía de imagen digital 3DV Systems of Yokne’am, ha anunciado la creación de ZCam, una nueva cámara de tres dimensiones para ordenadores personales que es tan sensible al movimiento que los jugadores pueden controlar la acción de la pantalla simplemente moviendo un dedo.

“La Wii nos ha enseñado el camino, pero este dispositivo puede llevar las cosas mucho más allá”, dijo el consejero delegado de 3DV Zvika Klier durante una reciente demostración para Reuters.

Dado que puede detectar la profundidad, al cámara rastrea los movimientos en tres dimensiones.

Tras navegar por múltiples pantallas y menús con su ordenador usando sólo gestos manuales, Klier lanza un juego donde controla un avión simplemente moviendo sus manos de lado a lado, y elevando sus pulgares para activar las armas o lanzar bombas.

Después cambió a un juego de boxeo, balanceándose para dar puñetazos y agachándose para evitar los golpes del contrario. Es similar al mando de movimiento popularizado por la Wii, pero no existe un mando. En lugar de ello, el ZCam lee cada movimiento.

“Con esto, realmente podemos meterte en el juego”, aseguró Klier
