Nintendo Wii tendrá distribuidor ‘online’ de videojuegos

La compañía confirma que WiiWare saldrá al mercado el 12 de mayo en EE UU.

Nintendo contará con una de sus anheladas aspiraciones: una red de distribución online de videojuegos. La plataforma se llamará WiiWare y tal y como adelanta The Inquirer saldrá el próximo 12 de mayo,un par de meses más tarde que en Japón, que lo hará este próximo mes de marzo. Europa deberá esperar para confirmar su fecha de lanzamiento.

El proyecto se pondrá en marcha con algunas limitaciones, por ejemplo el peso de los archivos a descargar se están intentando aligerar para no saturar las memorias y la transferencias del sistema. Los videojuegos online que se pueden comprar en los WiiPuntos tendrán distinto precio según la calidad y los contenidos.

De momento, las demos más demandas no estarán disponibles debido a la cantidad de requisitos que se exigen por parte del servicio, una dificultad que los creadores quizás no estén dispuestos a asumir.
